Audio Connectors - 3-Pin XLR - Chassis Mount (receptacle)
- XLR Connectors are used almost universally as a balanced audio connector for microphones and connections between audio equipment. The 3-pin XLR is the most common for those applications. 4-pin XLR connectors (with four pins) are typically used for applications such as Telex intercom headsets and handsets, some DC power connections and older AMX analog lighting controls. 5-pin XLR connectors generally are the standard connector for DMX512 digital lighting control and are also used for dual-element microphones and dual-channel intercom headsets. 6-pin XLR connectors and 7-pin XLR connectors can be used for applications such as dual channel intercom beltpacks.
