The Simply45® S45-B001 Integrated Snagless Strain Relief for Cat5e locks into the RJ45 modular plug so that both the plug and strain relief can be permanently attached to the Simply45® RJ45 modular plug during the crimping cycle.The S45-B001 strain relief extend the useful life of the RJ45 modular plug termination and should be used with all terminations. It is also Fast and Easy to Use. The S45-B001 is designed to only work with the following Simply45® part numbers: S45-1500/1501 Pass Through Unshielded RJ45 for Cat5e and S45-1000 Standard WE/SS Unshielded RJ45 for Cat5e. Prolongs Life of the Termination. The S45-B001 takes the strain off the terminated plug. When you do not use a strain relief, any contact with the plug or cable puts strain directly on the terminated plug. Over time this could cause one or more of the RJ45 pins to become loose. If a pin becomes loose, it will create electrical resistance. Resistance creates heat. This could then cause performance problems or damage to the device socket. Narrow Design for Easy Access. S45-B001 strain reliefs are the same width as the RJ45 modular plug. Most common strain relief slide over the RJ45. This makes the terminated connector much wider and difficult to use in multi-port patch panels and devices, causing many installers to forgo using strain relief. The Simply45® S45-B001 strain relief lock into the plug during termination and maintains a very narrow profile, allowing easy access to the plug in tight installations.
